The point guard has an extremely important position.   Point guards are responsible for controlling the ball and ensuring that it gets to the right player. Simply put, the point guard helps create scoring opportunities for the team. There are several great point guards in the NBA, but some are considered greater than others. Below are some of the best point guards in NBA:

Tony Parker

Tony Parker currently plays for the San Antonio Spurs. He began his professional basketball career in 1999 and was drafted for the NBA in 2011.  Even though Parker has been playing professional basketball for 14 years, he does not show any signs of slowing down or stopping.  Four seasons ago, he was averaging 22 points per game. He also averaged three assists per game.

Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry was drafted for the NBA back in 2009. He started playing for the Golden State Warriors in 2009.  Not only is he known as one of the best point guards in the NBA, but he is also one of the best three-point shooters in the NBA. This past season, he made 45 percent of his three point shots. In 2010, he won the NBA All-Star Rookie Award. He also won the NBA sportsmanship Award in 2011.

Chris Paul

A discussion about the best point guards in NBA would not be complete without talking about Chris Paul.  Chris Paul began his professional basketball career in 2005.  Paul has accumulated 5,499 assists since he began his career. He currently averages 9.8 assists per game. Not only is he known for being one of the NBA’s best point guards, but he has also had numerous other accomplishments in his professional basketball career.
