Things Of Note For The FIFA World Cup 2014

Posted on 05. Aug, 2013 by in Soccer

For the first time since 1950, Brazil will host the FIFA World Cup. World Cup 2014 promises to beintriguing to the max, as there are many talented players and teams participating.  Let’s take a look at some of the most compelling storylines you’ll see next year.

As the only five-time World Cup winner, host Brazil should be a team with something to prove in 2014. After dominating the sport for years, the last few years have seen the seleçãostruggle in a relative manner. With an infusion of young talent and home-field advantage on their side, Brazil should be competitive. Also never to be counted out is defending champion Spain, who, along with winning the Euro Cup in 2008 and 2012, will be looking to add an unprecedented fourth straight major championship to their pedigree. Argentina boasts the footballer who is widely considered to be the best in the world in Lionel Messi. Although Messi has been phenomenal on his club team, Barcelona, he’s never reached the same level of excellence on his national team. He and Argentina will look to end that in 2014.

World Cup 2014 should prove to be one of the most interesting and entertaining in memory. With the field seeming to be wide open, the winner will be able to boast truly being the best football team in the world.
