NBA Upcoming Season | XL Sports Blog

NBA Stories to Follow

Posted on 12. Sep, 2013 by in NBA

The NBA is a sport of chemistry more than most sports, and in recent years, thanks to free agency, it has also become a sport of storylines.  Each NBA season, fans look forward how well their team will play.  There are many questions to answer.  Will players coming back from injury perform at the same level?  Will the rookie phenom have a sophomore slump?  Will the new head coach finally bring a young player to his potential?  Of course, big free agent signings are often a topic of discussion.

This off season, the Dwight Howard saga kept the Los Angeles Lakers in the news for months, but he ultimately chose Houston.  The experiment in Los Angeles did not go well for Howard, but some experts believe Houston is a much better fit for him.  He will be surrounded by a younger supporting cast that could complement his game well, especially with a young superstar like James Harden.

At the other end of that equation is Kobe Bryant.  He suffered a serious Achilles injury.  He is one of the hardest workers in the NBA, but he is also 35, a tough age to rehab an injury like that.  With an aging core of Pau Gasol, Steve Nash, and Bryant, the Lakers may be on the outside looking in.

Finally, Lebron James is the best player in the NBA, and he is gunning for a third straight NBA championship.  Kevin Durant has a great team, and there are many other teams that refashioned their rosters with the goal of taking down James’ team.  The Nets have a revamped team and a new head coach in legendary player Jason Kidd.  The NBA season is coming, and there are many stories for fans to follow.
