Hernandez Arrested, Released by Patriots

Posted on 27. Jun, 2013 by in NFL

After what has been nothing short of a series of bizarre events, former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was arrested this morning and charged with murder in the case of 27-year old Odin Lloyd.  Lloyd’s body was found less than a mile from Hernandez’s home approximately 2 weeks ago and since then a media frenzy has occurred with rumors of Hernandez’s involvement gaining more legitimacy with each day.  The questionable behavior performed by Hernandez includes having a cleaning crew at his house last Monday, the destruction of his home security tapes as well as his cell phone, which are all indicators of obstruction of justice and evidence tampering.  However, the news appears to only get worse for Hernandez as he was charged with the count of murder this morning at the Attleboro District Court.  The Patriots released Hernandez only 90 minutes after he was arrested.

With a myriad of information still yet to be discovered and made public information Hernandez’s fate has quickly gone from a possible suspension from the NFL too now potentially being behind bars for the rest of his life.

This is yet another sad chapter in the life of Aaron Hernandez who has been submerged in controversy since his playing days at the University of Florida.  In fact, many NFL experts agree that the only reason the Patriots were able to draft Hernandez in the 4th round of the NFL Draft is because other franchises did not want to take a chance on the troubled star, though his talent and potential had never been in question.  As more information becomes available we will update you on this tragic case.
