Get Ready for the Excitement of the 2014 World Cup

Football fans around the world are gearing up for the soon to be under way 2014 World Cup. Held this year in Brazil, this international tournament for men’s football teams from around the globe is raising much excitement and anticipation. The tournament has not been held in South America since 1978, when Argentina beat the Netherlands 3-1 in overtime. Today, the country of Brazil is preparing to host the worldwide tournament, while game attendees are buying tickets and team gear.

If you are interested in purchasing tickets for the global football match that is the World Cup, then you might want to start looking now. Over 200,000 tickets were sold in the first 24 hours they became available. On Wednesday March 12, tickets for 60 of the 64 matches were released, and they are sure to be bought in a hurry. However, if you are unable to get tickets to watch the games in person, they will be broadcast on TV stations around the world.

In preparation for this always surprising and enthralling tournament, Brazil constructed the Arena Amazonia. This arena can hold 40,00 spectators and will be the home for four group-stage World Cup matches. The design of the stadium was inspired by traditions of the Amazon, which are reflected in the outer shell that resembles a straw basket used by people of the region. The seats are painted in bright yellows, oranges, and corals, which are nod to the indigenous fruits of the country. If you make it to the Arena Amazonia, you will be able to enjoy a climate controlled match as well as welcoming seating and plenty of refreshments.

Football fans from around the world are ready to get the games going at the 2014 World Cup and their wait is nearly over! With just a few more months remaining, tickets are continuing to sell, team jerseys are flying off the shelves and Brazil is bracing itself for tourists, media, and an increase in security measures. No matter who wins, the tournament is sure to be exciting and memorable for everyone watching.
